KC transit workers, riders & allies convene to fight privatization

KC Transit workersIn Kansas City, Local?1287?is gearing up for a campaign to rally support to fight against efforts to outsource the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA).

More than 125 members, transit allies and riders attended a lively meeting this past weekend to learn about the privatization threat.? During the session attendees worked together to develop new strategies, engage and empower members and riders, and build coalitions within the community.?Read more.
This effort is part of ATU?s new trainings to engage our membership and galvanize our riders into a potent political force that will have an impact on local and national battles, the U.S. Congressional elections in November, and key municipal elections in a number of Canadian provinces.
